May 2009 bestselling children's titles at Amazon.com: see list.
List includes The Last Olympian (Percy Jackson and the Olympians, Book 5) by Rick
Riordan and Oh the Oh, the Places You'll Go! Deluxe Edition by Dr. Seuss.

Baby's best selling books (under 3) can be found here and includes:
Where the Wild Things Are by Maurice Sendak
Peek-A Who? by Nina Laden (Author)
The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle
and Goodnight Moon by Margaret Wise Brown (Author) and Clement Hurd (Illustrator) (this book is ranked 4.5 out of 5 based on ... not less then 619 customer's reviews!!! )

My personal opinion: books are excellent educational tools, babies love them (it takes a little exercise at the beginning) and are (most of the time) cheaper then toys, so invest in books:)

Have a nice day.

These days some great deals are running on spring apparel throughout the Amazon Baby Store. Shop for brightly colored outfits, Easter outfits, and everything else you need to prepare your baby for spring. And this is the link
Personally I bought for Tori 3 Susan Lazar Organic Basic Bodysuit (pink) are a little expensive but I least I know we wouldn't have more problem with our dermatitis. (this is the link)

Today I've got this message from Amazon:
--
Amazon.com has new recommendations for you based on items you purchased or
told us you own.

In this message:
* Kiddopotamus SwaddleMe 100% Cotton Flannel Large, Blue Gingham
* Baby Gund Barnyard Buddies (Baby Gund Fabric Activity Books)
* Kiddopotamus SwaddleMe 100% Cotton Flannel Small, Sage Gingham
* Award Winning Potty Training Doll for Girls
* Where's My Bone Soft Activity Book by Manhattan Toy
* Kit Homes: Your Guide to Home-Building Options, from Catalogs to Factories
* Baby's Day: Cloth Book
* Nosefrida Nasal Aspirator
--

Then, first moment when I had time, I checked a little bit. My baby's first birthday is close now (10 days) and I had no time to buy a real present (yet). So from what Amazon recommend it I also highly recommend:
- Kiddopotamus SwaddleMe - and I realized I have no picture with my baby using it, sorry, anyway Tori use her Kiddopotamus up to 3 months and it was great, then summer came and it was too hot
and
- Baby Gund Fabric Activity Book - Touch & Feel Barnyard Buddies

A nice collection from Lamaze: Lamaze Two Can Play Collection including 3 adorable plush toys: a bear, a bug and a monkey (seems all Lamaze collections include a monkey).

Lamaze Hug a Boo Bear
Another fun and educative toy for new-born babies from Lamaze Toys. It's a bear about 9″ tall that plays "peek-a-boo" with your baby. lift bear's arms and will play "peek-a-boo". Soft and lovable toys, bears always fascinated babies minds.
Check out for Lamaze Hug a Boo Bear at Amazon here, today I found it at $17.95, but prices may vary.

Lamaze Giggle Bug with interactive fingers, plays "Itsy Bitsy Spider" (my baby's favorite)

Lamaze Clap with Me Monkey
claps her hands and, of course, plays "If You’re Happy and You Know It"...

Anna on "A must: glass or BPA free bottles"

Two days ago, late in the night, I was reading about Canada labeling BPA a Toxin.
Next morning I've changed all my baby's plastic feeding products with glass bottles, for the moment. It is less convenient, the bottles are heavier and special attention is required (in fact, in less then 10 hours I've managed to broke a bottle, I suspect it was a problem from the manufacturer, but, anyway, one bottle less in the first day :)

1. Whay?
After researching a little:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bisphenol_A
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Resin_identification_code
http://zrecs.blogspot.com/2007/11/z-report-bisphenol-in-baby-bottles-and.html
I decided it is a risk I don't want to take. I spent about $40, but I eliminated (I hope so) a big risk that can be generated by plastic bottles: a kind of endocrine-disrupting hormone (read the article, is especially good).

2. What I chose?
Firstly, I start using the Evenflo glass bottles I received as a gift 8 months ago. Until now I was using only the nipples (stage 1), and I was very happy with them (this is another story, but my baby proffered bottle during the day, so I have to express the milk and feed her, and I had no problem to switch to breastfeeding during the night, she, so the latex nipple from Evenflo seems OK).
You can find Evenflo glass bottles at Amazon, are cheap and quite resistant.

Then I chose a BornFree trainer cup, it is plastic, I know, but at least is BPA-free and it is from one of the recommended brands. This is still to arrive.

I've bought 2 more 5oz glass bottles from a local store, one is already brocken, so I think of Born Free 3 Pack BPA Free 5 oz Plastic Bottles or to buy some Evenflo 5oz glass bottles, but only buying some silicone sleeves, too.

You can see all BPA free products available at Amazon here.

I know, I did not decided for spoons and bowls, I'll do it probably tomorrow, since is very late now and tomorrow... it's another day.

Today one of my aunts visited us, to see Tori for the first time. Beside the fact that she was disappointed Tori ignored her (what she expected? a 8-months baby don't care about public relations:) she gave her a gift: a sweater. Very nice, I appreciate, but... why a sweater? There is any chance for Tori to receive something else as a gift, ever? I think she already has like 9 or 10, 80% of the presents received were sweaters.
This one is red&orange, quite nice, made in china (WHERE ELSE?), but let's see who will gonna use it? I bought 2 one-piece overalls, one to fit the warm autumn outside and one for cold weather and this is what my baby will gonna use for this season. I'm trying to figure out how to upload some pictures here and I'll do it.
Anyway, back to my question: Why everyone buy sweaters? It is so much easier to buy a sweater and say: "I don't care, I've done my job, I've got something". As far as I remember from my childhood, the only true gifts for a kid are toys and candies. And this is what i buy when I have to make a gift to a baby. And I think this should be the present for any kid.

You, all Tori's aunts, grandmas and friends: buy me something I could appreciate or you'll be amazed to see how much I am amused by the wrapping paper and how less I care about the gift:)

Welcome to ToysPoint.com, a place where I am looking to find best solution for babycare, and this include not only toys, as the name of this forum, but more important baby health, care, food and development issues.
Some of the first materials posted are referring mostly on toys, since the information was collected some time ago from other mommies and child care specialists, but in time I've abandoned that project. Now, when my baby is 8 months old (and 1 day, at the time I am writing this first post), I hope to have time to write on this forum, which I wished started on the day my baby was born, but, of course, I had no time for this.
So I, Anna, welcome you all to send your comments, ideas and observations to make this place a reference page for baby-related issues.

Thank you
